The principles of this style of architecture include an eye to detail, a creative reuse of already existing structures, a respect for the existing surrounding, and a consideration for the future. These concepts involve the use of natural light, a building envelope that envelops the landscape, the integration of human activity into the built environment, and a greater focus on the function of the building rather than its form. Urban planners consider the placement of roads and parking facilities within the urban area, as well as the proximity of schools, hospitals, businesses, etc. to be crucial factors in deciding the layout of the project.
